How to choose the right calculator?

Each tool is designed for a specific type of material and a distinct way of buying it. If you are painting, the paint calculator starts from the wall area and gives you cans. If you are pouring a slab or a sidewalk, the concrete calculator converts the volume into bags. For granular fills and bases, gravel and sand give you volume and weight in tons, useful when buying in bulk.

In the garden, the soil and substrate calculator estimates liters and bags to fill beds or pots, while the mulch calculator works out how many bags you need to cover a surface with the recommended layer. For coverings, tile gives you pieces and boxes, and flooring calculates boxes of laminate or vinyl based on the coverage of each box.

They all share the same logic: they measure an area or a volume, apply a waste margin, and round up the units that are bought whole. You can read the detailed criteria on our methodology page.
