About Calcula tu Proyecto
Calcula tu Proyecto helps turn loose measurements into clear material estimates for home, garden, and light construction work. Our goal is for you to know how much to buy before you head to the store.
Our purpose
We bring together simple, specialized calculators for paint, concrete, gravel, sand, soil or substrate, mulch, tile, and flooring. The idea is simple: help you plan before you buy, so you don't run short in the middle of the job or overpay for leftover material.
Many online guides explain the formulas but leave the tedious part —doing the math, converting units, and rounding— to you. We automate that step and also show the formula and an example so you understand where each number comes from.
How we handle the calculations
Each calculator shows the main formula and a practical example. We support the metric system (Europe and Latin America) and the American system (United States), and we apply a waste margin when appropriate. For units bought whole —like bags, sacks, boxes, or cans— we round up, because you can't buy half a bag of cement. If you want to know the criteria in detail, we publish our methodology.
Simple privacy
The calculators run in your browser. You don't need to create an account or submit your measurements to a form to get an estimate. You can read more in our privacy policy.
Estimates, not absolute promises
Results can vary by brand, coverage, compaction, cuts, installation, and the real conditions of the project. Our tools provide a guiding estimate; for important work or structural elements, always check the product's technical sheet or consult a professional.
Who is behind the site
Calcula tu Proyecto is a project by DXPERIMENTS STUDIO LLC, a studio that builds simple, useful web tools. It's maintained by a small team with experience in software development and in the practical home-project math these tools automate. We're not a construction company and we don't sell materials — which lets us explain the criteria with no interest in you buying more than you need.
How we create and review the content
Every calculator and every guide follows the same process: we start from standard geometric formulas and reference values published by manufacturers (paint coverage, a 50 kg bag ≈ 0.0225 m³ of concrete, compaction and settling factors), check the results against hand-worked examples, and document the assumptions on the methodology page. We review the content periodically — each page shows its last-review date — and correct it when a reader points out an error.
Help us improve
If you spot an error, a confusing formula, or a calculator that should exist, you can write to us. Reviewing those details makes the site more useful for everyone. Visit our contact page to send us your feedback.
